The HÜLL INSTITUTE acknowledged the craft beer movement by shifting their focus to developing bolder, fruitier hops for release in 2012. Previously, this German institute dedicated their research to traditional Noble hop varieties. It is clear by the amount of hectares taking over the region that brewers are seeking these unique flavors varieties. HÜLL Melon or Huel Melon offers one of the most unique flavor profiles of any hop variety. This aroma variety is clean and distinct with flavors of cantaloupe, honeydew melon and strawberry.

The versatility and uniqueness of this hop provides brewers with a variety of options and styles to showcase Hull Melon. We have often seen the flavors showcased in single hop IPAs and Pale Ales. The profile can also pair nicely with a Belgian yeast or a wheat beer.
