It’s that time of year again! Wet Hop Season!
One of our favorite parts of harvest season is hosting brewers at the farm. Our team gets a chance to collaborate with the brewers and see first hand their excitement for the quality hops we work so hard to grow.
Every year the brew team from Chicago’s Revolution Brewing takes the trip to our Michigan Farm. They walk the fields to select the hops for their annual wet hop release – Farm to Fist.
On brew-day (Sept 10th) the hop vines were cut, the cones separated, weighed, bagged up and delivered in a refrigerated truck to Revolution Brewery. Within 10 hours of being on the vines the brewers were pouring the fresh hops in the tanks!
This year MI Chinook and Crystal were used. Revolution describes the beer as “a palate punching IPA characterized by its bold, fresh hop flavors and aromas with a unique blend of citrus, pine, and herbal notes created by fleeting green resins and oils.”
Our team on the farm is looking forward to the release of this beer later this September.
