Hop Planting Time at Hop Head Farms! Calling all Volunteers!!

Posted by on April 22, 2012

Hello! Here at Hop Head Farms we are getting ready for planting our 15,000 hop plants!  Planting will begin on May 12th and continue until we are done.   The goal is to have all the plants in by June 3rd.  Many hands make light work, and good company while getting the job done.   A celebration will take place on June 9th for all who have helped.

We will be organizing people in teams of four for each planting row.   The goal is to have 2 teams per shift on Saturdays and Sundays.  If we can get more that will be great!  During the week we expect that fewer people will be able to help.  We will have our “regular crew “ working on planting, but welcome volunteers then also.  You will be fed, rewarded and thanked profusely what ever day(s) you are available to lend a hand!

No experience is required, just a willingness to help and a desire to learn about hops.

What you may want to bring:

  • Work gloves
  • Sunscreen
  • Work shoes that you don’t mind getting muddy

We will provide:

  • Plenty of drinking water
  • Snacks and/or meal depending on your shift
  • All necessary tools

If you are interested in helping out please let us know your available days and times and if you will be coming by yourself or with a group.
